Restoring True Masculinity

My own spiritual journey and recovery has shown what true masculinity is all about. The character and integrity. Finding joy, since happiness requires right circumstances, means to come to a place of experiencing life - regardless of the good, bad, and those ugly moments.

Day 7 – Fellow Strangers and Sojourners

As we go forward with faith and purpose, we do so with the mindset that this life is a test. That there is a purpose for our mortal existence, and that we are called and assigned to endure those conflicts and challenges. To live for God through service and obedience, placing our hope and trust on Jesus Christ, and striving to be perfected so that we are able to say with conviction: I have fought the good fight, I have finished my course and now there is laid up for me a crown of righteousness.

The 5-Levels of our Spiritual Hierarchal of Needs

When we seek first God's Kingdom, we shall be blessed with those things we stand in need of temporally. As our faith increases, so does our ability to seek God and conform to his will and desire for our lives. In doing so, we will be blessed through our obedience to the teachings and commandments that he has given us.

Genuine Christian Peace

The Lord will give strength unto his people; the Lord will bless his people with peace. ~ Psalm 29:11, KJV ~ Through Christ - We have a Spirit of Peace ~ January 8, 2020 Devotional ~ There is a shallow and empty sense of contentment and peace in the world today. Shake off the Chains With Which Ye are Bound

There is an awakening that occurs in the heart and minds of every person who is suffering and perishing. Those who awaken to their awful condition and state of being see the destruction for what it really is. We see ourselves as unclean. Filthy. And, a great burden is on our back that weighs us down. As much as we do not want to face this truth - we must face it or continue to suffer and perish. This is where we find Christian. Faced with the reality of a coming destruction. The reality of the burden he bears.

Courage for our spiritual journey

It is through Christ's infinite and profound atonement that we are able to come to a place where we place our hope and trust in God. This hope and trust provides for us an assurance for whatever challenges may lay ahead in our spiritual journey. We may face desperate circumstances. Personal adversity. And seemingly impossible social upheavals to contend with. Yet, He is faithful toward us because he has called us into a fellowship with his Son - Jesus Christ (See, 1 Corinthians 1:9, paraphrased). And, his promise stands to protect us and strengthen us (See, 2 Thessalonians 3:3).

Being a comfort to others

Recovery is a dark journey for most of us. Through our faith in Jesus Christ, we come to full knowledge of His light, love, and truth. Do we forsake others struggling in their own darkness and journey? God forbid. This is the heart and foundation of recovery support groups.

Putting aside childish ways

When I was a child, I spoke like a child, I thought like a child, I reasoned like a child. When I became a man, I gave up childish ways. ~ 1 Corinthians 13:11, ESV ~ Recovery and spiritual growth requires us men to emancipate ourselves from our childish and adolescent ways. It requires our … Continue reading Putting aside childish ways

Finding peace that is like unto a river

Oh that you had paid attention to my commandments!    Then your peace would have been like a river,    and your righteousness like the waves of the sea; ~ Isaiah 48:18 - ESV ~ We all look back and remark on the many regrets of missed opportunities, mistakes, and chosen paths we have taken. When Other People are not Measuring up

And the Pharisees and their scribes grumbled at his disciples, saying, “Why do you eat and drink with tax collectors and sinners?” ~ Luke 5:30, ESV ~ When other people do not measure up to our perceived expectations, we begin to grumble and murmur. Our nature is to be overcritical and causation for our irritability. A common … Continue reading When Other People are not Measuring up
